We are thrilled to announce that due to the overwhelming interest and success of our BPCRN Kick-off meeting, we reached the maximum capacity of our initially planned venue at UZ Gent by mid-August. Thank you for your incredible enthusiasm and support!

To ensure everyone is comfortably accommodated, the afternoon program will now take place at a different location on the UZ Gent campus then originally communicated.

Morning program (location: Conferentiezaal, Entrance 40, Route 402, UZ Gent)

  • 09:00 - 09:30: Registration
  • 09:30 - 10:30: CRC-meeting - open to pediatric studycoordinators and study nurses of BPCRN-sites or upon invitation
  • 10:30 - 11:00: Coffee break
  • 11:00 - 12:30: BPCRN Advisory Board meeting - open all pediatric personnel of BPCRN-sites or upon invitation
  • 12:30 - 13:30: Lunch

Afternoon program (location: Auditorium E, Entrance 32, UZ Gent)

  • 13:00 - 13:30: Registration
  • 13:30 - 16:30: Lectures - Joining forces for research networks in Europe ​- open to all (accreditation has been requested)
    • 13:30 - 13:45: The Development of BPCRN - Dr. Levi Hoste (BPCRN, BE)
    • 13:45 - 14:15: Advancing Pediatric Research in Belgium: Perspectives from the BAoP - Prof. Dr. Ann De Guchtenaere (BAoP, BE)

    • 15:00 - 15:30: Conect4children-stichting: current and future perspectives - Prof. Dr. Mark Turner (CEO c4c Stichting, EU)
    • 15:30 - 16:00: Medical Devices in children and their upcoming trials - Prof. Dr. Karel Allegaert (KU Leuven, BE)
    • 16:00 - 16:30: Pediatric Clinical Trials: Industry perspective on history and future developments - Dr. Frank Tennigkeit (UCB Biosciences, senior clinical program director, Global)

The PhD defense of BPCRN core member Dr. Eva Degraeuwe on trial facilitation, patient engagement and case-study of lisinopril: 'Pathways to Optimize Clinical Trials in Pediatric Setting' will take place in the evening (18:00 – 20:00) at the same location as the afternoon program of the BPCRN Kick-off Meeting (location: Auditorium E, Entrance 32, UZ Gent).
